Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! Rachel's dad drove over from Dallas to join us in Shreveport for dinner. Mom got a smoked turkey from a local BBQ establishment. She and Rachel then made a ton of tasty sides. After dinner the guys headed over to Samstown to try our luck.
The few days before Turkey Day were spent doing a trial run of decorations at the Dallas Women's Forum, tasting cakes, and visiting Uncle Clyde and Aunt Cathy. We asked their daughter (my cousin) Elana to be a flower girl and she graciously agreed. She is adorable! We also visited my grandparents who filled us in a couple interesting facts about the family.
Rachel and I got our wedding rings as well! We visited Uncle Clyde at the Zales headquarters where he is an IT Project Manager. He took us to the employee store and we found some great rings at a deep discount. This is the second time Uncle Clyde gave us the 'hook up' and I am really really really grateful.
having a friend or relative for a jeweler is a good thing. =)
