I have listened to a lot of NPR this year. I made the transition from local talk radio (620 AM), to local sports talk (1510 AM), to national sports talk (ESPN Radio), to NPR (WUWM). The first two in the car, the latter two mostly online and in the car.
Here are is a list with links to radio programs that I particularly enjoy.
- Fresh Air - Terry Gross interviews a wide variety of guests.
- This American Life - Smart and funny.
- Nocturna - From KCRW in LA. Electronic music producers and DJs spin and talk.
- Metropolis - Very similar to Nocturna
- WUWM - Local NPR station
What I love about NPR is that most all of the programs keep extensive archives so you can go back and listen to shows that you might be interested in. Also, if you are so inclined you can use Audio Hijack and save them and listen to them at your leisure.
How is TX goin?

Seriously, car talk is the best show on NPR-- the click and clack brothers rock!

I'll check out the techno on MSE from time to time. Otherwise, 620 or 1130 if I am on AM radio.

NPR has an RSS feed for Fresh Air, with links to individual stories and the associated RealMedia file.
