This is an artists' rendering of what the Miller Oasis at the Summerfest grounds will look like after construction is complete in 2006. Estimated cost $2.5 million paid by Miller. This is the last stage to get an update and will really justify $5 beers (not). Does look spiffy though.
Hmmm...let see who have I seen at that stage? The Violent Femmes, The Wailers, Black Uhuru, King Solomon, Brian Setzer, The Tempations, and many more.

ZZZzzzz. post some love, ninja!

That is funny.
That is almost the same plan Disney submitted to Summerfest when Bo was in charge. She did not like it and did not want Disney anywhere near it.
Now the new peeps are in charge and doing some great design work to update that old place and get some better crowd management going on.
I have not been to Summerfest in about 2 or 3 years now. I just am not a fan of the smelly crowds. The other fests on the same grounds are a blast. It is time to spread out the fest a little bit to help it grow and have some better crowd control. That will attract some people back to Summerfest.

For all the people it brings in, they should have done this years tho-- though it will be interesting to see how it effects the cost of admittance and other stuff.

Glad Miller is finally spending money on revamping the stage and the surrounding area. It's been a mess for some years.
