So I have to say I pulled a rather bonehead move the other day. In a ploy to get Rachel out of the house I suggested we go to the lakefront festival of the arts. I bought some advanced tickets and we headed out in the morning. Get down there early, like a week too early. For some reason I didn't look at the tickets or the website all that closely and jumped the gun by a week. While we were down there we had brunch and the Milwaukee dish bistro then walked over to the Cathedral Square farmers market. We each picked up some cool prints and headed over to TJ Max in Grand Avenue for some bargain clothes hunting. I feigned illness and we went home where Rachel's surprise party took place. Thanks to Christine for putting it together!
Saturday after a shrub busting session at Chris's building Kacz scooped me up and we did the Locust St Beer Run. The T-shirts had a better design that last year and we checked in early. We are going to try to get a couple of people to dress up and run, we were thinking lifeguards cos most of us still have gear. A tactical mistake on our part was to start in the middle of the pack. It took way to much energy to snake through people to get into a comfortable running pace. Kacz suffered from poor hydration from the day before and eased up his pace. I forged on. The first three beer stops were in pretty quick succession. I had to walk after the third one and burp a few times. I finished in about 13:15 for a 1.8 mi run with people holding me up in the beginning.
We enjoyed some BBQ pork sandwiches and bummed around. Billy joined and we went on food hunt with him. BBQ, funnel cake, corn...all the good stuff. I ran into my next door neighbors, you never know who you'll see out and about. Then came a great set by King Solomon, the festival crowd gave them a lot of love. They did not disappoint.

How is the Cathedral Farmers Market? I am heading to Madison's this weekend... is it just as good?

that must be going around.
sunday morning, my folks called me at 8am. i answered, hung over as hell. turns out their flight didn't leave for milwaukee from vancouver for another 24 hours. so, i picked them up and we bummed around for a day. all in all, no harm done, and it was lots of fun, but i did enjoy ribbing them a bit about it. lol
