Hi all. We are back in Milwaukee after our wedding. Here is the way things went down since the last post. We headed over to Dallas after some lunch at Samstown casino. I had catfish smothered in shrimp etouffe, good stuff. Due to some not so good judgement on my part I got pulled over shortly after crossing the Texas state line doing 82 in a 70. Was my first speeding ticket in four years and could have been much worse. I was going slightly faster than that less than a minute before crossing paths with the long arm of the law. We hit some traffic once we reached Dallas but it was not too bad. We dropped my car off at the hotel and headed to DFW airport to pick up Christine, Rachel's maid of honor. Did I mention it was HOT? After picking up Christine we headed to the Vista Ridge Mall to the Men's Warehouse to get all but one of the tuxedos. Once the tuxedos were secured we were off to Uncle Mike and Aunt Brenda's in Plano. These last two locations took a few minutes longer to get to due to unfamiliarity with the area. With the girls settled in and full of BBQ, it was time for Pete and I to grab some dinner at the only place that could satisfy my hunger, Tokyo One. Plenty of sushi and sake were to be had after a couple looong days. We ate all we took except the baby octopus which was a bit too exotic for us. We did make a movie on Petes phone my making them jump up and down with our chop sticks. We arrived back at the hotel shortly after 10pm and caught up with Bill and Johnny who had the room directly accross the hall. This was a Holiday Inn Select which was actually pretty nice and had a bar/restaurant attached. Now a couple of Milwaukee guys, especially lifeguards couldnt just turn in and call it a night now could they? Hell no. We went out and shot some pool and returned to cool off and chat on the balcony.
Saturday morning Pete and I headed back to DFW to pick up Rachel's brother Justine and Christine's Mom Dorothy. We dropped Dorothty off at Uncle Mike's and he took Pete for a ride in the Z06 and showed us is .50 caliber desert eagle hand gun. We headed back to the hotel to meet and greet my parents and relatives who just came to town as did Chris and Adele. It was really good seeing everyone. There was my cousin Rajul and her husband Vipul and their two sons Mahil and Druuv of New York. My Uncle Dilip and Aunt Usha of India. Uncle Navin of India. Aunt Sudha and Uncle Deepak of Jamaica. Cousin Shani her husband Rafael and son Arin of Tampa Bay. Once I got to say hello to everyone it was time to clean up for the rehearsal dinner. We loaded everyone up and headed over to the restaurant. That is where I got to see my uncles and aunts on my mom's side. Uncle Clyde and Aunt Cathy, Uncle Mark and Aunt Linda, Uncle Philip and Aunt Lori, Uncle Mike and Aunt Brenda, and my lovely Grandmother were there. Cousins Jennifer and her husband Aaron and their son Ethan, Steven, Elaina were there enjoying themselves. The one thing I did'nt mention on my previous post that was on the menu was Lamb Vindaloo which Rachel's dad Rich loved. Once dinner was over we headed back to the hotel and eventually wound up at the hotel bar, which incidently had a 'bollywood' night with indian dance music. The place started to really get full and the bar staff was not prepared do it took a while to get a drink. We headed back up to the rooms and eventaully got a game of dominos going which I actually did well in.
Sunday was the big day and since it is getting late I will continue it a little later. I will have the appropriate links and eventaully have pics to the pre-wedding festivities.
