Rachel and I have been made very comfortable by Uncle Dilip and Aunt Usha. Sunday my cousin Manisha, her husband Sanjay, and their girls Paroma and Sharanam got a chance to spend time together. We had a big lunch at a very nice chinese restaurant. I like the take on chinese food suited to Indian tastes. Prawns Kowloon style (with red chilis) was very good.
After lunch it was time to nap. Once refreshed the adults went and saw The Wedding Crashers. We got some seats in the back half of the theater which is filled with big leather recliners. Going to the theater will never be the same. The seats were so comfortable and the leg rest was controlled by an electric switch. About half way through the movie they come around and give you pillows and blankets to further increase your comfort. The lobby of the theater was nuts. Loud music pumping through speakers, different shops, and any kind of food you want.
Monday we did some shopping for clothes that are a better fit or Rachel now that she is pregnant. The light cloths she bought will suite her well when she is further along in the summertime. I am writing this while Rachel has gone off to get a massage. When she returns we are heading into Mumbai (Bombay) to vist Uncle Dilip, cousin Rasesh, cousin Ameem, and Firecracker Auntie.
We leave for Dehli tomorrow. From reading the papers it is the coldest it has been there in 76 years reaching 32F or 0 celsius. That is the night time low. The day time highs are still in the 60s so that is still hella warm for me.
Uncle's flat is right on a busy street the runs along the seaside. You dont even notice the 24 hours of beeping traffic. Across the street is a chain coffee shop called Barista. TV and film crews gather there in the mornings then head off to shoots. Apparently it is quite common to see actors and actresses have coffee in the evening there.
I am not sure what level of internet access I am going to have in the coming days so here is a pic of the comfy seats in the theater, and another of the hectic streets here.
The pics are going to be very bad resolution due to compressing the image to get it down to a reasonable file size to upload using a dial up connection. I'll get some high res images up when connected with high speed.
i had curry the other night. i bet you're so effing jealous.
