google maps came in handy to plan my all skywalk route from water & wisconsin to 3rd and kilbourn in the dead of winter.

Also: the satellite images have been updated. The resolution for the downtown Milwaukee area is much, much higher. I get a good view of the northern face (a.k.a. "my side") of 1522 On The Lake. A step closer, and you could see me waving!

This has been available for quite a while now, albeit via a far more complicated procedure.
If you geek out on Google Maps, be sure to check out Google Maps Hacks. There's a ton of cool things you can do, like overlay your own map images, add images and custom text to map points, etc. (I have a semi-functional prototype of an SAS feature that draws a translucent circle over partners' territory. Cool stuff.)
