Random Thoughts

Went to the Villa Terrace last weekend. Picks to be posted soon. It is quite impressive to see inside. It was built in the 20's by the graddaughter of the founder of A.O. Smith right on the lakefont a few blocks south of North Ave. The gardens are not too fancy but quite large. The home and property if available to the public would definitely sell in the millions.

Well the bikers are in town. The city seems a buzz with Harley fever, at least the retailers are. Vetrans park has been turned into multiple music stages and tents. We'll see how long I can stand the thunder of the bikes.

Football season is quickly approaching, I've grown impatient with the preseason. At least the Badgers start playing this weekend to hold me over.

Go Ahead Make My Day

I am back from the Search Engine Strategies conference in San Jose. I learned a lot and did some valuable networking. I could bore you for hours talking about it. BUT, something pretty cool happened at breakfast the day we were leaving. The man, the myth, the legend CLINT EASTWOOD had breakfast with a team of people about 30 feet away. I did not get the opportunity to get his autograph but it was neat to see him in person non the less. The funny thing is I just watched his movie Blood Work two days prior.

On another note I will be posting pics from the glass master Dale Chihuly's exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum from the Summer of 2001.

PS It feels great to be home!!!

Ye Olde Good Time

Spent most of Sunday at Bristol Renaissance Faire. Take a look at the photo album for some pics from the day. Rachel and Ann consulted started off the festivities by consulting psychics. Next came various vegetables, meats, and desserts on sticks.

The Mud show was quite entertaining and messy for a few spectators. it lived up to its PG-13 rating. After some browsing and more eating. The highlight of the day had to be the Royal Falconer. I ama big fan of birds of prey so to see them in action up close is quite a thrill. If I ever hit the lottery I'll get a falcon and keep the birds away from an airport. The birds' ability to swoop down at great velocity and change directions commands respect.

Speaking of cammanding respect Chris bought a BFS, a big freakin' sword. Its actually called a Claymore and just the blade alone is 48",see pics in the in the photo album to see just how big. Lets just say there were heads turning and jaws dropping all the way out of the park.

WMSE is Cool

So I get in my car Thurday morning and start it up. The first thing i hear is "the 7th caller will win tickets to the Comedy Central Live Tour with Dave Attell and Louis Black". Half asleep I call in and WIN! I actually won by default because the 7th caller hung up as soon as the hist answered. As some of you know I am a big fan of the TV show Insomniac with Dave Attell so winning tickets made me very happy.

*hint* if you ever want to win tickets from WMSE you have realize they only have 4 lines.

Summer Movies

I have to say I have been a movie junkie this summer. The need to see the blockbusters has waned a it in July and early August but am still catching almost one a week. I have still yet to see Seabiscuit. And the Ken Burns documentry got me interested in the movie more than Spiderman's Tobey Mcquire.

So I'd have to say that my favorites so far have been Matrix: Reloaded and Pirates of the Carribean. The first is obvious, next generation visual effects, especially the motorcycle chase. The second mainly because of Johnny Depp, he made me laugh amore than once in the movie.

Welcome to my weblog! After many months of saying Iwould and procrasitinating (the best thing i do) I finally put one up. Thank the good folks at typepad for making it so darn easy.

I plan to update this frequently with the going ons in my life and other ramblings good and bad. I will also have a photo album up soon as well.
