Thanks to Bill (and Joe) we have been wakeboarding almost every weekend this month. I should thank the weather too because it has been perfect. Speaking of wearher my thoughts are definitely with the folks of the Carribean and Florida and the most unfortunate luch they have had with hurricanes this year. I was monitoring a weather bouy off the coast of Alabama and at one point there were 43ft waves!!!! That sounds like a big number but, I work on the 4th floor of an office building and thinking of a wave that would come up to my window scares me. Also being a former beach guard on Lake Michigan, I vividly remember rowing a boat in 5-7 ft waves and that was challenging.
So the weekend after Labor Day a couple regulars (Bill, Johnny, Brendan) and one newbie (Shanna) headed out to Bill's cabin up nort der hey. Shanna paid the price as all newbies dew at cards. Saturday we had an early afternoon wakeboarding session followed by the Notre Dame v Michigan game. There were intermittant bouts of unconciousness mixed in there (AKA naps). This was followed by an afternoon/early evening session. The lake was cold but the water was glass. I started to get my jumping technique down but had trouble committing to a had cut into the wake (going fast for a big jump). Next up was Algen's steak house were all stuffed their gullets. Sunday Brendan and Shanna had to head back to town, but Billy, Johnny and Dozer took the boat out one last time. I have some pics that will be posted shortly.
Rachel has continued to spearhead our home decorating initiative. The latest two projects were replacing the cieling fans in the living room and kitchen. We managed to get shocked only once a piece.
The last two sundays went like this. Golf, wakeboarding, Packer loss. Now a superstitous person would say "Every time you listen to the game on a boat, the Packers lose". To that I say "shut up, I can almost jump across the wake, the Packers have no seconday thats why they lose".
One last note the restaurant former known at Ujala Tandoori is know known as Ujala Delight and has moved one block west to 7th and Mitchell. THE FOOD ROCKS. The facilities are definitely an upgrade but man, the tandoori he made for us the other day makes me drool just thinking about it. For those of you in the Milwaukee area and want some good eats check it out.
