Waiken and I hit a Johnnie Walker tasting in Chicago last night. The 1.5 hour event consisted of a half hour of free Johnnie Walker drinks. Waiken started out with a Rusty Nail, I tried a Manhatten. Both sucked big time. It wasn't the scotch it was the other stuff that is in those drinks. We managed to choke down half of the drink and went back for something that was actually drinkable. The scotch and tonics we got were far better than the previous round. Next the staff let us into a room with rows of tables, at each table was a place mat with 5 flights of scotch. Two were of Johnnie Walker Black Label and the other three were of scotches that are blended to make the black label. We learned about the legs, nose, and finish of the scotch. If this sounds familiar they the same terms that wine tasters use. It was interesting tasting the flavors of the scotch separately and to learn about its distilling process. Once the presentation and tasting was over we got a little gift. It is a pin with the Johnnie Walker walking man on it.
But the best part of the evening was yet to come.
We headed over to the north side of Chicago to a Korean BBQ. Wow. The food was amazing. Waiken was correct in the fact I was totally unprepared to handle the culinary assault I was about to face. I expeted for us to grill our own meat over the grill dip it in many different tasty sauces. I was wrong. The many dishes only include two sauces and the rest are different kim chi, peppers, hell I dont know what the stuff was BUT IT WAS TASTY. You can make your own lettuce wraps with the grilled meat and throw stuff on from the various dishes. I will be back there as soon as the opportunity arises that is a fact.

I took a double take when I read this story that read 'Chris Rock to Be Host of Academy Awards'. I personally think he is funny and could really zing the stars that attend.
Too bad John Wayne isn't around to get a lifetime achievement award while Chris Rock is hosting the show, I am sure there would be an interesting exchange backstage.

So I broke down and purchased an Airport Express. My used Airport Base Station (graphite) gave out on me. I got it for a great deal and I got plenty of use out of it. The Airport Express is pretty handy though. It have a stronger signal than the original base station and it can do some things the origianl cannot either. Those differences being the ability to stream music to my stereo or share our printer between computers...wirelessly. So in addition to surfing on the couch I can eliminate some cables while I am at it. The unit is very small, and plugs right into the wall. Setting it up was a snap as well.
(Warning techno jargon)
There were a couple things that it either cannot do or I and other mac peeps I know have not figured out. Those are PPTP pass through and Port Map. If anyone who happens to read this has figured it out on the APEX, hook me up.
**Update**
I figued out why I could'nt PPTP pass through and Port Map the APEX. Cause duh, I was using an outdated version of the Airport Admin Utility. Once I got that installed everything was gravy.

Thanks to some friendly reminders and threats of legal action (I'm looking in your direction Brendan). I have posted the Klug Fall Wakeboard Camp albums. There is a pic of a bald eagle in the sunset album.
Side note: I have been conferring with Pete and we are working out how to transfer his July wakeboarding pics to me. Normally it wouldn't be a challenge but all the pics he took were high resolution at about 1MB a piece and there are literally a hundred pics. We'll work it out, I did'nt get all that fancy schoolin' for nothing.
So the albums are: Adam, Billy, Brendan and Sunset. Unfortunately Johnny Mack always went in after me so I was drying off when he was boarding and did'nt get any pics of him. Well twist my arm, we'll juat have to go again and get some pics of Johnny Vegas.
