Congrats to Milwaukee Wing Tour for winning MKEonline.com's first ever Blog of the Week. Interesting concept and good writing. Thanks for the guys over there for checking out my blog and leaving a comment. Their subject matter is near and dear to my heart. If you have ever seen me eat wings with Jamaican jerk sauce, after wiping stray sauce off of your shirt, you would know.

Also, Dan got interviewed on WUWM's At Ten radio show about blogging. He is the first one interviewed, give it a listen.

Tomorrow (Friday), John the PixelPusher (aka THUNDA JOHN) and I are heading down the windy city to check out The World of Drum & Bass. In order to keep my hearing I'll be bringing some earplugs.

If you are'nt a hardcore junglist, I highly recommend attending the LTJ Bukem/MC Conrad show at Mantra Lounge in late April. Those are great shows. Bukem spins the smoothest hard stuff there is. Very accessible music, not club 'bangers' or noisy tunes. MC Conrad is the best in the biz, he doesnt shout over the records, he does not want to see your lighter all night, doesnt beg for props for the DJ, he compliments the music. Thats my speil.

Fun While It Lasted

I will always have fond memories of Bruce Pearl's time as the Panther's coach. Rachel and I went to the 2003 Horizon League conference tournament final against Butler and they put on a show! The team jumped all over Butler and you can tell Bruce Pearl had his team ready to play their best when they needed it most. Obviously the nation got to see that this year and it did'nt take a genius to figure out the 2+2=$4 million over 5 years plus perks. Best of luck at Tennesse Bruce! You earned it.

As promised, the pics if my Uncle Mike's Corvette Z06 and man did we go the speed limit....NOT!  There is a button that you can turn the traction control on and off. Well if you hold it in for 10 seconds the display reads 'competition mode', nuff said.

And We're Back

2300 miles, 0 speeding tickets, 1 parent. Thats what we netted during our long weekend in Shreveport & Dallas. We enjoyed bathing in the sun and mid-70's temperatures. My Dad came back with us to visit us and friends. He is just as excited as I about the UWM Panther's cinderella story in the NCAA Tournament. Bruce Pearl for President!!!

I have some pictures (that will be posted tonight) of my uncle's sweet Corvette Z06 that is seriously fast.

On the Road Again

Rachel and I are making the drive down to Dallas via Shreveport tomorrow. My co-worker/friend Carrie is being kind enough to watch our monsters while we are gone. Saturday I'll likely head to one of the casinos and watch UWM play in style.

We will be meeting with the minister that will perform the ceremony and talking care of some other loose end while we are there. I think it is supposed to be in the upper 50s to lower 70s while we are there so that will be a welcome change for a few days.

I've been using Audio Hijack Pro 2 to get some of the This American Life shows on to my iPod. Thanks to Griffin Technology and my PowerPod I do not need to worry about the battery while in the car.

Speaking of gadgets, PowerBook Medic saved me a bunch of loot on a  new power adapter for my PowerBook. They have a replacement part for the plug that has loose wiring in it.

On a side note now that the ski/snowboard season is over here for the season I am going to move on to bigger, better, and more dangerous things. Bless those Norwegians for complete disregard for personal safety; say hello to Ski Tree Jumping.

Go Panthers!

My Alma Mater UWM just beet the Alabama Crimson Tide for their first ever NCAA Tournament win!!! They almost won in the first round two years ago but Dylan Page missed a layup to beat Notre Dame by one.

The Panthers came out drilling three pointers in the first half. The second have they withstood an 8-0 run and made big offensive and defensive plays down the stretch.

I listened to the game at work and can't wait to watch the highlights later.

Twice As Nice

So I decided blow some of my tax refund on lunch yesterday. I considered going to my regular haunts, Ghengis Khan, El Ray, Qdoba, or Indian Palace. But then I realized I hadn't had sushi in a great while. I recalled that I had yet to go to Japanica near Southridge mall. I remembered there was another favorable review of it in Milwaukee Magazine's list of tasty ethnic restaurants.

I arrived there and took a seat at the sushi bar which is staffed by Japanese chefs. They have very reasonable sushi lunch specials, 2 rolls soup and salad for $8 or 3 rolls for $10.  I chose the 2 roll lunch and got a couple other pieces of sushi. I was highly satisfied.

So when I later told Rachel about lunch she made 'mmmm' sounds and started to smile. She told me she had a hankering for some teriyaki chicken. So I went back to Japanica for the 2nd time that day! More rolls and hot sake were had for dinner and I was again in sushi bliss.
